Am Dotun Olagoke a travel education and processing consultant. Whom in 2019, had an online educational post that went viral to guide and inform aspiring Canada relocation applicants. On the process to follow to achieve their relocation, that brought well above 4'150 email inquiries, suggestions, and advice from readers.

And from some of those who yielded to my advice on what to do, that followed it. Returned to recommending me to their love ones, as well send words of appreciations. Which is an encouragement to do more, and let who desires same could have their goals also achieved.

Today, I will be sharing with you, the result of ignorance that played out. From the  personal experience of one of the readers of my last educational post that brought about 4'150 emails received.

Which shows for who cares, that Canada relocation process is what applicant can do themselves, should the applicant care well enough to know how. Following who have his/her interest at heart, ready to better inform and, guide him/her right on the complex pathway to Canada.

Now, narrating as shared by the victim. In his words he wrote;

In 2014 I paid an agent friend for my US visa application who insisted I appear as medical personnel. But I studied English language and literary studies.

Giving the point they hardly refuse medical personnel. When I was arguing with him, he turned it around against me. Saying should I know better, I should have gone ahead on my own.

At that point, I have no option than to concede to him. So, I played along prepare to appear as medical personnel, dentist to be specific.

Then we left Lagos to Abuja US embassy for the visa interview section held with a white lady consular. Initially, she looks partially okay with my response to all the questions asked.

After a long pause, she asked some other question now related to the invitee who happens to be a fake(arranged), uncle.

Even though, the reason given in related to my fake uncle was not justifiable to me. That since my fake uncle got to the US to study and later stayed back. I will likely do the same, in that case, she is not comfortable granting me the entry visa.

That was how I left Abuja for Lagos without the visa.

My concerns now are;

 πŸŽˆ It over 6years, will they still have my records?

Yes, that is why embassies do biometrics taking applicants' fingerprints. Use to store and to pull out applicant information in the embassies.

🎈 Does it make sense, to write a letter confessing the truth?

Confession can only complicate the issue tagging the applicant a desperate traveler, which embassies always try to avoid giving an entry visa. That could lead to absolute ban.

 πŸŽˆ Even thou, I don’t have plans to visit the country anytime soon. Still never can tell, a situation might warrant it. Scholarship, job offer, or a privilege on a platter of gold. What can I do?

Three options;

To go ahead with information already with the embassy if it will work with the privilege at hand.

Forgo the privilege because the initially submitted data at the embassy can't match the real data.

Lastly, is to risk pushing through the application while the embassy discovers the non-uniform information itself through the fingerprint that could lead to a total visa ban.

Those were my replies as an advice to him which I know many people have experienced. That leave them in a dilemma state now on their visa application to same country, or affected their chances to apply to another country because most embassies share applicants information and data.

So, applicants find themselves in this state, as a result of ignorance of information and education about the process. Which many others also confirmed, the first time I used this applicant's experience to teach why visa applicants don't need a third party, agents. To process and have a successful visa application.

Now, in the interest of you reading this, willing to relocate as a legitimate resident that transition to a permanent resident. Without writing the ielts exams before leaving Nigeria. Who doesn't wish for such an experience with an agent, can consider looking into a piece of helpful information and guidance on this pathway to Canada.

That can help, inform and, educate you better to make a self informed decision, to qualify yourself, understand your chances and possibilities towards being able to make that Canadian dreams a reality.

Put together by Mrs. Seyi Obasi.  A Nigerian-Canadian who followed the same process herself, being an ambassador of a Canadian organization through the process and, has well helped many Africans through it.
